Picky Dancer is a conceptual solo music project by Josh Naaman.
Each album starts somewhere real, then slowly uncovers the emotional landscape hiding beneath it.
The music blends indie rock, folk, dream pop, and atmospheric production into records designed to be experienced from beginning to end. They tell a specific story from many different directions.
Who is Picky Dancer?
Picky Dancer is Josh Naaman, a lifelong musician who was a guitarist turned drummer.
Josh’s life is and has always been dictated by the music he listens to. He’s particular about the sounds that fills his ears and even more picky about what (and when) he dances to it. This project is the combination of his career as a musician and his passion for technology meeting in the middle.
He has united his love of playing music with the constraints of present day life by utilizing cutting edge technologies, softwares, and AI that assist him in creating intentional songs that converge into cohesive, purpose driven albums.
Why the name?
It’s actually pretty simple. I’m literally a picky dancer.
I’ve always been particular about music. Certain songs belong in certain moments. Certain records belong to certain seasons.
I’d rather spend years making one album worth moving to than hundreds of songs people forget tomorrow.
Picky Dancer became a reminder that taste matters. And it’s always personal.
